Basic Concepts
To simplify the future communication between us, let's take a look at some basic concepts of Fina.
- Workspace: Every Fina account has a workspace. A workspace is a collection of all your data, including accounts, transactions, categories, rules, budgets, and reports.
- Profile: Fina is a multi-profile system. You can create multiple profiles in a workspace. Each profile has its own set of data, including accounts, transactions, categories and rules. Accounts can be moved between profiles.
- Console: If we ever mention "Fina Console", it refers to the user interface to manage each profile: accounts, transactions, categories, rules.
- Pages: In contrast to Console, Fina Pages are the user interface to view and analyze your data. You can create as many pages as you want in a workspace. Some people treat page as a document and some others refer it as dashboard, in fact, it is a living dashboard in a document.
- Blocks: Fina Pages are built with blocks. A block is a data visualization component that can be added to a page. There are many types of blocks, including text, table, chart, and more. You can add, remove, and rearrange blocks to create the perfect page for your needs.
- Metrics: A metric a logic name to represent a data point, such as
