Purpose:
This template allows the primary leaseholder or any roommate to manage shared household expenses efficiently. It tracks rental payments, utilities, insurance, and other expenses and automatically calculates how much each roommate owes based on their share percentage. It also helps track repayments to ensure everyone contributes their fair share. Perfect for reducing confusion and streamlining the payment process in a shared living arrangement.
How to Use This Template:
Set Up Expense and Income Categories:
Add rental expense categories and repayment income categories (each roommate can be an income category) in the "Categories" page.
Import this template to your account.
Update the Category Filter for "Rental Expenses Last Month" Block:
Hover over the block and click the menu icon in the top-right corner. Select "Edit."
In the right-side drawer panel, locate the Metrics section.
Update the category filter with the rental expense categories you’ve set up.
Update the Category Filter for "Repayment from Roommates" Block:
Similar to Step #3, update the category filter with the repayment income categories you’ve set up.
Customize Each Roommate's Payment Block:
Update the share percent and block title to reflect each roommate’s agreed share of the rent and expenses.
You can copy-paste the block to add more roommates or delete any blocks if fewer roommates are involved.
Tips:
Update the rental expenses and roommate payments each month to keep an accurate record of what everyone owes.
Ensure all categories are properly assigned to ensure clarity on the payments and avoid discrepancies in shared expenses.
