This "Budgeting by Paycheck Date" template allows you to set a budget and track expenses starting from any paycheck date. It offers the flexibility to monitor spending over any selected time period, helping you compare your income and expenses leading up to your next payday. With this template, you can ensure that you're living within your means between paychecks and adjust your budget accordingly.

Purpose:
The "Budgeting by Paycheck Date" template is designed to help you manage your cash flow on a paycheck-to-paycheck basis. It allows you to track income and expenses for a specific period, providing a real-time view of your financial situation. By organizing your spending habits around your pay dates, this template helps ensure you stay on track with your financial goals without overspending.

How to Use This Template:

  1. Import this template to your Fina account.

  2. Update the Date Range for the "Budget based on paycheck date" Block:

    • Hover over the block and click the menu icon in the top-right corner. Select "Edit."

    • In the right-side drawer panel, locate the Date Range selector.

    • Click on the right side of the date range picker and select the paycheck date you’d like to start tracking your budget with. (Please toggle "till Today" on.)

  3. Adjust Your Budget Based on Your Income:

    • Set income and expense budgets that align with your earnings. Adjust categories as needed to fit your actual paycheck.

  4. Track Expenses with Each Paycheck:

    • Whenever you receive a new paycheck, you can set the date again and restart tracking for the next period. This allows you to keep a rolling, up-to-date picture of your finances between pay periods.

Tips:

  • Use the "YTD Expense and Income" section to see your total spending and income for the current year. This gives you a high-level overview of your financial health.

  • Regularly update the "Budget based on paycheck date" to ensure that you’re tracking your most recent paycheck and expenses, helping you make adjustments as needed.
